Once again, we had the pleasure of heading to Barcelona for the Smart City Expo World Congress 2023. As a long-standing partner of the event, we took the opportunity to unveil our new software-as-a-service solution for cities: the Smart City Toolbox.
While our focus was the promotion of our company and our solutions, the Expo is more than just a sales events: it’s a family reunion. Smart City professionals, thought leaders, solution providers, organisations, and urbanists gather together to exchange information, build new connections, and maintain friendships.
SCECW 2023: Setting a New Standard for Urban Innovation
This year’s event was an absolute success for organisers. SCEWC 2023 was visited by more than 25,300 urban enthusiasts from over 140 countries. This truly international event once again defied expectations and signifies the greater importance of smart urban solutions to help streamline urban services, reduce carbon emissions, and ultimately protect our planet.
We also attended the Smart Country Convention in Berlin, but since I wasn’t there, I can’t comment on the atmosphere and overall impressions of the event. However, both events, especially the one in Barcelona, are considered the pinnacle of smart city initiatives globally. It's been an honour to be part of both of these significant gatherings.

Now, back to Barcelona
At our booth, the bee smart city team had engaging interactions with many attendees, making the experience truly rewarding. Our team was also joined by a plush, but nameless bee! SCEWC was a perfect opportunity to showcase our SaaS solution, which is tailored to meet the specific needs of cities and regions. Our participation at this major international event highlights our dedication to contributing to urban development worldwide.
